What to Expect During Your First Visit:
During your first visit, our team will:
- Review your dental and medical history
- Fully examine your child’s teeth and gums
- Take x-rays, if necessary
- Check for early signs of tooth decay or the need for fillings
- Create a customized treatment plan and answer any questions
To maximize efficiency and create a more stress- free visit for you and your children, we will email all necessary forms to you prior to scheduling. Once you complete and return the forms with your insurance information, our staff will verify your benefits and eligibility; and let you know in advance what you may expect financially. This allows your children’s appointment to proceed on time, with you able to devote all your attention to them instead of our front desk. If you are transferring from another dental office, we ask that you send us any prior records in advance so we can review them and better plan for your appointment.
If you have any specific concerns, we ask that you let us know before scheduling your appointment, so that our staff and doctor may discuss them with you by telephone prior to your visit.

At what age should my child have his/her first dental exam?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends every child have established a Dental Home by 12 months of age. We will examine your child’s mouth, instruct you on proper oral hygiene techniques and diet, and establish a relationship with each other.
At this initial and each subsequent checkup visit, we will review proper methods of home care appropriate to your child’s understanding, check for cavities, clean your child’s teeth and apply fluoride as needed.
How often does my child need a professional polishing with rubber cup and polishing (prophy) paste?

How often should my child have a dental checkup?
We work with many insurance plans as an out of network provider.
Please call or email our office with your insurance information and our staff will be happy to let you know if we can work with it. As an out of network provider we are free to plan your child’s course of treatment unburdened by insurance company dictates. Many of our patients end up having no out of pocket costs at all.
